Dr.-Ing. Indradip Mitra is a Visiting Professor at the IIMK India-Japan Centre on Climate and Culture at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. With over 28 years of professional experience in the energy sector, he is a leading expert in the integration of renewable energy into power grids and the development of smart grid infrastructure.
He holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kassel, Germany, and has dedicated much of his career to the energy-environment-sustainable development nexus. His expertise includes grid integration of variable renewable energy (vRE), energy storage solutions, sector coupling, and clean energy policy modeling.
Prior to his role at IIM Kozhikode, Dr. Mitra held leadership and research positions with prominent international organizations, including GIZ India, Fraunhofer IEE, and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). He has authored over 55 publications and led numerous consultancy projects aimed at accelerating the global energy transition.
