About Ms. Laura Jalasjoki

Ms. Laura Jalasjoki leads GGGI’s work in Nepal and Pakistan since April 2025. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in management, advisory and strategic planning for sustainable development and scalable green transition across four continents. From 2021 to 2023 she served as GGGI’s Country Representative in Burkina Faso, where she successfully expanded the country portfolio and launched the integration of conflict sensitivity into green growth interventions.

Ms. Jalasjoki has extensive experience of supporting enabling policy and institutions for green growth, including the development of national Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategies, sectoral planning, and related resource mobilization from public and private sources. At the European Network for Rural Development, she led EU-level work on strengthening national administrations’ capacity to implement European Green Deal objectives through interventions in bioeconomy and sustainable agriculture.

Ms. Jalasjoki has designed, managed and advised multi-country capacity building programs across the global South for over ten years. At AgriCord she promoted inclusive agricultural development through multi-actor programs steered by producer organizations. At the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) she designed and managed projects supporting sustainable and inclusive agricultural policy and investments across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She started her career as local project coordinator at the Finnish Embassy to Nicaragua.

Ms. Jalasjoki holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Tampere in Finland.
